Kiskunság National Park, Hungary
Butterflies
The following list is not a full list of Butterfly species of Kiskunság National Park. Some of these species are rarities, others are common. We are happy to advise you about the possibilities upon request.
Kiskunság National Park is not the number one in terms of richness in butterfly species or abundance of individuals, but still offers a lot of very interesting species, some of them very localized, not, or hardly found anywhere else due to the special local soil and microclimate.
If you would like to combine our area with a completely different region, such us the limestone hilly region of Bukk Hills or the more distant Aggtelek National Park with amazing density and variety of different other species, please let us know.
Some of the species which were observed in the garden of Ecotours Kondor EcoLodge or its surrounding area
Cardinal - a surprisingly common garden species
Swallowtail - during certain weeks it is regular in the garden
Common Glider - we usually have one or two around when certain bushes in flower
Scarce Swallowtail - a relatively common, not at all scarce visitor in the garden and at nearby meadows
Brown Argus - quite common at nearby meadows
Eastern Short-tailed Blue - scarcer than Short-tailed, but both can be found
Queen of Spain - the commonest fritillary beside Cardinal
Glanville Fritillary - quite common fritillary of the nearby meadows
Safflower Skipper - should be easy to find at the nearby flowery meadows
